If you are asking “where is God in all this?” you may find out with a Spiritual Companion.

“The whole purpose of spiritual direction is to penetrate beneath the surface of a person's life, to get behind the facade which one presents to the world, and to bring out one's inner spiritual freedom, one's inmost truth… one's soul.”

– Thomas Merton

Services

  • Spiritual Direction

    / Spiritual Companioning /

In Spiritual Direction, also known as Spiritual Companioning, our work is to explore your challenges in making meaning, trusting, loving, struggling with woundedness, loss and pain, all of which lead to the subtle transformation that comes with living a spiritual life.

You need not be religious, only open to being aware of your longing for a spiritually-meaningful life in a modern era, with contemporary challenges, longings and resources.

You might want to talk about things like loss of life dreams, death, dying well, ethical decision-making (we call that ‘discernment’), the work of forgiveness, and especially, how to love.

Spiritual Direction is typically a monthly meeting and is not covered by health insurance.

  • Counseling with a spiritual approach

/ Complex Grief, Suicide Loss Trauma /

To lose someone to suicide is a trauma. While grief is not a mental illness, and grief is normal and necessary, sometimes we develop complex grief, a kind of trauma that does not resolve easily. In a spiritual approach to therapy for complex grief, you will find understanding and hope of living fully again, even though you are changed forever.

You needn’t be religious. You only need to hurt enough to have your hear break open to a broad hope. I can help you find peace of mind and spirit as you grieve (especially if you lost someone to suicide).

Beginning in late-November, 2023, I can accept many insurance plans though Headway, which you can access at Headway.co for Colorado residents only.
